Asus has new laptop named as Asus A53U-XE1. The A53U-XE1 which powered by features a dual core processor, so you should not be confused with the 1GHz. This really means this machine does have a 2GHz processor. This machine is obviously not a fastest computer, but way faster than my previous HP notebook I have used for 3 years. This Asus notebook has loads of preinstalled bloatware or manufacturer’s softwares, but I managed to uninstall them, including the preloaded Antivirus, and installed my trusted antivirus software, and also Microsoft Office 2010, and it runs great. Performance wise, this 15.6 inch laptop got a 3.9 due to its processor performance, and it is decent for me, and I guess for most basic computer users, this is more than sufficient.
